Ms Chaoying Liu the Founder and Creative Director of CHAU·RISING graduated from the Beijing Institute of Fashion, the top fashion university in China. Chaoying has devoted herself to the research of cashmere design and new technology innovation. She has undertaken professional training in Paris since 2015, and Japanese legendary designer Kenzo has been a very important mentor throughout her career. Chaoying started her brand, CHAU·RISING based on her vision to modernise otherwise traditional knitwear techniques and is a member of both the China Wool Textile Industry Association and the China Fashion Association.

CHAU·RISING was founded in 2017, scaling quickly within the domestic Chinese market to secure over 300 retail partners across major Chinese cities and department store, including a standalone shop-in shop at Galerie Lafayette China.

CHAU·RISING adheres uncompromisingly to sustainable practice, respecting every gram of raw material. Sample development and experimentation uses waste cloth and yarn, which are then disassembled for use in repairs and embroidery, with remaining waste at the end of this process being repurposed for use in artistic and other creative applications. CHAU·RISING has benefitted from excellent coverage across leading domestic media including Vogue, WWD and Harper’s Bazaar with an enviable and growing list of A-list talent clients.

CHAU·RISING has offline physical stockists in many major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Chengdu. Its independent flagship stores are in Galeries Lafayette, Shanghai and Nantou City, Shenzhen, while its collection stores can be found in SKP, Beijing, Deji Plaza, Nanjing, and elsewhere. CHAU·RISING entered the market in October 2017. At present, there are 2 direct-sale flagship stores and another 336 buyer collection stores around the world.

CHAU·RISING has not only always advocated the concept of “sustainable fashion” since its establishment, but also explored the possibility of environmental protection from the aspects of brand spirit, product design, production and so on.
