JUSTICIA RUANO

Justicia Ruano was born in Almeria, Spain. Justicia achieved her Fashion Design Degree, specialising in openwork (woven fabric) from the Escuela de Artes y Técnicas de la Moda, Barcelona.

Immediately after graduating and at the young age of 21, Justicia worked as Manager of the Woven Collection for Catalan Brand, System Action, where she remained for 5 years.

Justicia was then approached by MANGO for the position of Head of the Woven Design Department: a role that she maintained for 11 years.

After this extensive experience, Justicia started her own company as a free-lance designer whose clients included such as well-known brands as Escorpión (Woven collection manager), Vanity Fair (lingerie), Laplaia (beach couture) and TCN.

In 2009, she launched her own brand, 9PM by Justicia Ruano, which has now been abbreviated and re-launched simply as JUSTICIA RUANO. The brand focuses on competitively priced cocktail/evening collections, using luxury fabrics, elaborate hand-made embroideries, sequins and of course knitwear. Justicia is a regular on the Barcelona Fashion Week Catwalks each season and is stocked in key boutiques throughout Spain.

The collection has been exhibited at Who’s Next Paris, Atmosphere Paris, Simm Madrid and Barcelona Fashion Week.
