Charkviani is the directional shoe label from London based design duo, Tengiz Chketiani and Jennefer Osterhoudt.

With over 15 years’ experience designing for internationally renowned brands, they have worked as head of accessories for the likes of Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Givenchy and Dior, where they created some of the most memorable shoes of the decade.

Their passions, experiences and inspirations have created shoes that are instantly recognizable, collectable and covetable. Their footwear carries emblematic references to their lifelong love of music, inspired by Iggy Pop, Poison Ivy and Marc Bolan. Female muses range from Dita Von Teese to Farrah Fawcett, Juliette Lewis to Tina Turner. Jenne was one of the original NYC Club Kids and was part of the famous ‘Party Monster’ club scene. This dynamic and expressive environment continues to influence her creatively.

The concept behind Charkviani is to create a collection of unique, wearable avant-garde pieces, combining their international heritages with European high style and the British spirit.Their clientele are creatively brave, contemporary and daringly stylish.

Spring Summer 2012 sees the launch of their debut commercial collection. Their signature directional luxury line is made up of exotic python, luxe feathers and Italian leather. Bold original shapes, confidently high heels, angular platforms and a new take on the classic ankle strap can be seen. Traits of the alternative pin-up and burlesque, fetishism, restrained sexuality of Victoriana are worked into the collection and made contemporary with flashes of neon.
